not true , 150 is somewhat easy to acheive if they do it right , unfortunately people always push the envelope and blow stuff.

whats a civic? economy . 5 grand+ is retail prices and shop labor . I know i'd never let a shop touch my car except for final tuning.if people cant as a bare minimum do the hardware install they dont deserve a fast car or a turbod car. and once they get one it'll go poof from not having the knowledge and abilities for upkeep. oh well. sucks for them.

not w/o a supercharger to the wheels... he asked how to w/o... the only way would be a lot of nitrous oxide and some machined internals... not gonna be easy or cheap.

People have been modifying all sorts of cars and making them fast forever!

But someone who is asking a question like this obviously doesn't have the ability to figure it out and probably isn't old enough to drink legally.

Probably still in high school. Impatient. A reply to his own post less than 30 minutes after his first shows signs of complete impatience.
The question about how to get 50% more power from his motor without forced induction shows he hasn't even tried to do any research on motors.

Well I think its more maturity than age... Im still in highschool but I know cars somewhat...

Also boxman making an economy car fast isnt hard... what do you think 85% of the tuner world drives??? and celicas have .3 liters bigger of an engine (not gts) and it can be made to do that for under 5 grand but not for a N/A thats more expensive of course to modify it to that degree to gain that kind of modification is very expensive to change out internals.

You'd be upset if I told you how much (or how little, rather.) I have into it.

Another thing, it isn't a mini van -- and it doesn't run 15s.

Go eat paint chips.

DFI with an aggressive fuel map
80 lb/hour injectors
larger throttle body
tuned header
high flow cat
Warlock or Borla muffler
custom ground camshafts
higher compression pistons
reprogrammed ECM
CAI taken in from the hood or the cowl area

those mods there should do it nicely...be rather costly but 150 to the ground with no nitrous or forced induction ( refuse to call them superchargers...because they are not... ) shouldn't be all that difficult

80lb/hr injectors?????!@?$?? Those would be perfect!!!.........................for 500hp.

30lb/hr injectors are more than enough for 150whp, and with a higher fuel pressure and duty cycle you could get 200whp out of 30lb/hr injectors.

And why do you refuse to call them superchargers? After all, that's their proper name... even a turbocharger is a type of supercharger.

First of all BOX___, I didn't ask for your opinion on how not to do something, so you can go get your little mini van and leave this site. And i said w/o a turbo smart ___. I don't see how this is such a bad question. I HAVE done research (Mr. xBUM), and i just wanted to know what other people thought. By the way, this is in the "power hungry" forum. What are people supposed to ask, "How do you add 5-10 hp"? Who the hell cares? And last of all, I noticed that 15 people looked at the question before someone answered, and the question had like 10 responses in like 10 minutes... it was just a joke.

Personal opinion is that people should be posting what they've done to make 20 extra horsepower. Or what power gains a certain mod makes. Or helping troubleshoot/diagnosing their recent upgrades for driveability and help remapping their ECUs.

But the sad fact is, there are going to be people who don't have a clue what they're doing and are asking questions about stuff they won't be doing because:
- they can't afford it.
- they don't have the technical ability to turn a wrench.
- they're day-dreaming about stuff again.
- they're Mommy and Daddy would shoot them for voiding the warranty.

Simple question: How do I make 150hp without forced induction.
Simple solution:
1. - nitrous (cheapest, easiest, quickest)
2. - motor swap (easier and quicker than #3)
3. - tons of internal work that will require you to run race gas and cause you to fail emissions or be fixing your car every other day you drive it. Also kill most of your street drivability.

But I'm new here, so don't listen to me.
