1nzfe and 4age...
Ok so I know the 1nzfe is a bored out 1.3 but what I don't get is why can't we reach numbers like the 4age?
http://hachiroku.net/forums/showthread.php?t=17462
This engine produces 86whp on the dyno, similar to our 84-90whp in the 1nzfe.
The link I provided covers a build with a 4age producing 149hp NA. Of course it has ITB's etc but the build is only $5000. While that may seem like alot to n00bs it seems VERY reasonably priced compared to a 5-6k turbo build. Numbers are very similar and bottom end/ mid range is better making it more drivable on the street.
The only thing setting the 1nz-fe back is the cam timming and duration. This is also without exhaust mods....
I know I ask alot of NA questions, but say someone got a AEM FMIC or emanage Ultimate and ran a 93 octane tune? Obviously pulley's, flywheels, etc...
Do our cars have clutch fans? removing the mechanical clutch fan on the 4age added 6hp even after replacing it with an electrical one...
Otherwise is swapping in the 4ag is possible with the stock tranny I have one I can swap in Smile

My bad...I posted it in the forced induction forum first LOL my bad. I didnt know how to delete so I just posted it in the correct forum after realizing I messed up.
Is a 4age a possible swap in our tranny's? JW
Nvm...4age is too old for our chassis...damn DOT!

The 4AGE was designed as a sporty motor. IIRC The G in the engine model designates that the valves are at a 45* angle as opposed to 33* in the FE engines which are designed to only be economical.
No the 4AG will not fit the C54 Transmission that the xA/xB's come with.

You're better off trying to install a 1ZZ-FE or 2ZZ-GE, they are of the same generation and you could probably find a new model, and if you do the right amount of research you can do it without havig to make custom axels, and your mounts wont be drastically different. 4AG would be a lot of work for wiring, mounts, axels etc... with little improvement.

Haha good point guys....I am more and more inclined of getting a supercharger now...
I know a guy who does a great port and polish job for cheap (buddy discount lol) and I was wondering if making a CAI for the blitz unit would net in more HP? Or just better CHT's? (cylinder head temps..)
I like turbo's but I would rather not mess around with them.
I am already getting exhaust for sure in September so I am slowly getting ready for a good build. would 2 inch be good for a supercharger? Or should I go 2.25? I don't like loud exhaust especially if they do not net anymore than 1 or 2 hp..
Anyone want a mr2 that has 66k on the clock? lol

Honestly get a good supercharger, intake, headers, leave the exhaust pipe alone if you daily drive it, and get a good exhaust. If you still want more power after that, look into porting the head, and port matching the supercharger manifold as well as the exhaust manifold.

should I get an individual oil cooler to cool the s/c? I was thinking of doing that instead of getting a heavy intercooler, and/or tapping into the engine oil...(already hot lol). I'm always worried about heat and water/meth is just a nuisance.

Cool that's what I needed to hear. Koyo radiator, beatrush underpanel, 180F thermostat, and a sandwich oil cooler. Thx!
Can't wait for my stage 3 clutch and fidanza flywheel
