The problem with these silly (and dangerous) internet miracle fixes for your car is that without tearing the engine down and measuring critical components, there's no way to tell how much damage was done. I will absolutely guarantee you that damage was done though. Oil is used in an engine to lubricate critical surfaces and reduce friction which causes wear. Take the lubrication away and you get friction and thus wear. It's actually that simple.
Hopefully a measurable amount of wear hasn't occurred; but its unlikely that the additional wear is 0.

I would be very careful with what your "experienced mechanic" suggests. I work at a Toyota dealership and my son is a Toyota and Lexus Certified Technician at a different dealership. He's also an ASE certified Master Technician. When I showed him what you did with the Kerosene, he said "That's a great way to trash a perfectly good engine and wipe out a catalytic converter." Just saying ...
