Adjusting throtle Cable

Adjusting throtle Cable
So I'm trying to find out why it feels like I cant drive a manual when I've been driving one for so long.
When I step on the gas, It feels as though there is a pause, then a clunk, as if I'm releasing the clutch too fast or don put enough gas. So I adjusted the free play on the clutch (put the screw right at the green tab (there was play before)) and am now wondering
How do yu adjust the free play on the throttle cable. I checked mine and my wifes xb. both have a lot of play when I checked under the hood.
Are there benefits. OR
is there a problem with my clutch, tranny cv joints. I just dont know anymore.
I wish I could have a transmission expert drive my car and tell me exactly what I am feeling. Toyota says (everting OK, car run good)
THANKS
