has anyone done anything diff to the AEM CAI(the long one from the dealership) I like the way it looks but was looking to see if I could make it a short intake. like maybe put the filter where the two parts meet and do away with the lower part.

if you shorted it, you are sucking in hot air from the engine bay, not cold air. you will get better mileage with short intake, but will not make more power because you will be sucking hot air. hot air = less fuel in the air - fuel ratio. depends on if you want a hp or 2 or better mpg.

 

ok ,thanx I will look at it some more and see if I can move it around to try and get the filter in some cold air.
