Default Is it breathing?

If your xB has a heartbeat in idle, then it can be your Air Mass Sensor. Recently just had the same problem when I installed a new cold air intake.

Default Depends...

If YOU install a cold air then it will definately VOID your warrenty. Toyota will install an "AEM" intake but it cost more for them to install--of course.

It is $154.00 for the air sensor and about $80 an hour for them to check the problem. You are past you bumper to bumper but I don't know if it is conered under powertrain.

The airflow sensor is covered under the 36 month/36,000 mile warranty.

The airflow sensor is not covered under the 60 month/60,000 mile powertrain coverage.

The airflow sensor is not covered under the federal 8 year/80,000 mile emission coverage.

Sorry!

"...when i got the car i bout the extended bumper to bumper 100,000 mile warrrenty..."

Well, that is new information we didn't have before...

You'll probably have to read the detailed information you have on the particular Extended Warranty plan you bought. (Not all states are the same, and not everyone buys the Toyota extended warranty plan - some dealers offer their own plans, etc.)

If you have either the "Gold" or "Platinum" "Toyota Extra Care" coverage from Toyota Financial Services, the air flow sensor is covered under "Fuel System." :D

ok took the xb to the dealer about the vibration and qoute "scion is aware of the problem but at this time they have no idea what it causing it and that there is no fix for it "end quote so the service manager told me that i will have to keep checking back or wait to see if there is a recall on the problem

That is one of the worst responses from a dealer I have ever heard! Assuming you really haven't done any mods... If I were you I'd go back and stand on that jerk's toes 'till something was done to correct the problem! What do you think they pay for the mass air? $50? Don't let them buy time on your dollar!

well they checked all the sensors 'so they said' its a vibration thats only in drive but u can only feel it in the brake pedal at a stopsigh or light , luckly i bought the platinum 100,000 warrenty and i told them if it breaks down yall have to pay the tow bill as well as any other expenses that go with it and i showed them its all in the booklet that came with the warrenty. So we will see where it goes from here .
