It's that I can't be sure that the increase is due to the snorkel. I've been taking alot of longer than normal trips recently. My MPG per tank has gone up by a mpg or two, but my average trip per engine-start has gone up too (for each tank since I removed the snorkel - that should change now & I can update again in a week when I go through another tank if you're really interested)... I think the longer trips (highway vs city/commute) are the reason for the increased gas mileage.

While I flip flopped on the noise issue, I have never said that this mod increased the MPG I was seeing at all. I simply got tired of hearing my car sound like a wannabe street racer (even if it is only from the inside of the car) when taking off from red lights/stop signs.
