check eng vsc and track light stays on,lost power ????
I have a 2005 XB with 38000 plus miles. I had notice a power lag (long time ago) and I had no check engine light etc the engine ran fine. when I had the above problem I took it to El Cajon toyota. Upon insp they found code P0012 cam sensor failure.replaced cam sensor ,gear assy camshaft all under warranty. I have noticed much better throttle response. Its best to have the scion taken in once a year for them to monitor all codes before problems happen.

if you have a check engine light, take it in asap. could be something serious, could be something minor, like you forgot to tighten the gas cap.
as for taking it in once a year, just make sure they follow the maitenance schedule you have that comes with the owners manual, or do it yourself, or show it to your local car garage that you take it to whatever to keep an eye on things.
toyotas are pretty great cars and will run to 300k so long as they are properly maintained.
