Interesting, but seems like overkill in a normal use street car that's regularly maintained. I've had a couple vehicles over 100k miles and never had problems with their cooling systems. More useful if you've had problems, like a blown head gasket or something, and know the coolant was contaminated and probably still crud in the system after flushing.

I can see where this has some merit, particularly if your using tap water in your cooling system and what part of the country your in. I've had to have several radiators rodded out over the years because they were completely plugged shut from all the mineral build up at the ends of the tubes.
Another way to aleviate this is too simply not use tap water and opt for either premixed antifreeze because the water is filtered and deionized meaning all the minerals and particulates are removed or use distilled water and mix your own antifreeze. This is something that should be done anyway with an aluminum engine.
