Converting a column mounted shifter to a floor mounted
Hi,
Let me explain my situation. I have a 2000 Toyota bB and a 2006 Scion xb. The xb is totaled and can't be driven on the road. It's not badly damaged but has a bent in the frame up front and the insurance claimed it as totaled.
I don't like the column-mounted shifter on the bB and would like to convert it to the mounted shifter from my xb.
How can I convert the shifter from my 2000 Toyota bB into the 2006 xb?
I checked the tranny code and it is U340E-05A. That is the same as my xb. So, it should be possible, but some work to get it done, right?
Thanks for any input that's helpful.
Sincerely,
Sven
PS: I forgot to mention they both are automatics.

Shouldn't be difficult. They both use cables for the shifter.
Get all the shift linkage out of the xB , noting how it was put in , then cut needed holes in the floor of bB, run cables , attach and adjust and you shoulb be on the road.
You didn't mention if it was a manual or an auto. Manual will have two cables , where as the auto will only have one ( much easier to convert)
