its not suppose to do a big difference, its just letting the engine get a bit more cold air without spending big bucks on a intake... its just somthing to do when your bored.
i did it to the car already. all you do is unhook the pipe from where the headlight lash is and turn it clockwise either to where the foglight harness's are or you can direct it all the way down by the radiator fan. its jus a project to do if ur bored n want to do somting fun to the car for no cost. :D

doing this may help a little bit, but the real benifit of a CAI system is that you have less bends and blockages in the system, and therefore less restriction/disruption to the airflow
yes getting colder air in the stock box will help a bit, but coupled with an intake pipe that has less bends, or even better, a velocity stack type design, you'll see much better performance.
it's great for a diy mod on the cheap, but don't be too dissapointed when it doesn't perform as good as an aftermarket intake system

Homemade kits have proven to make either a small change, no change and even hurt performance. Its hard to justify spending a few hundred on an intake for anly 5 hp in our case.
There is a greater benefit to length tuning than there is to whether or not its a "cold air" intake in normal operating temperatures.

very true
the only modified intake system taht will give you less gains is probably the "dragon" intake system
but DIY intakes if done right are the best bang for the buck

For you former and present Honda diehards.......do you know what car this was and who drove it?

Thought of this already......you have an advantage over us Californians.....we have a bi-annual smog check, so its hard for us to tamper with things. I also priced a new box (just the cover), 260 bucks, was definatly not worth it.
