Default Ebay header/megan header(fixed and now sounds/performs good)

ok so i went to my stepdads dealership in LA today so his mechanic could put on the header i bought. it came with the gaskets and the header, which looked to be of nice quality by the way. well he put it on and everything and now my car sounds retarted, its making like a flapping/popping noise when i drive now and theres no way its suppose to sound this way. i did notice when i got home there was a circular metal ring around the stock header and im not sure if that was suppose to go on or not....can anyone help

oh you're missing the exhaust donut. it needs to be re-used. so take her back. that's your problem.

ok awsome, so i just undid the 2 bolts from under the hood, and i slipped that little metal gasket in there bolted it back up and i must say, this is the best mod ive made so far, sounds a tad beefier and definatly picks up in the higher rpms. 110 bucks too! awsome thanks hotbox

i didn't reuse mine i had to buy another one... the gasket that comes off the stock header is already molded to teh stock header assembly... that gasket is lead and steel so is moldable... your new header will be a slightly different shape becuase no circle is perfect so when you get a new gasket ans slide that baby on there and tighten it down that gasket will mold to the new header... the only prob is the gasket is $40... but hey i don't care it fixes the problem

the megan header is by far the best mod you can do for your scion right now for the price. and that round gasket worked out perfect, it was nice and air tight for me atleast.

i think the OBX header diameter on the outlet is different than the stock header so the stock gasket was molded to that header... buyin a new one solved the prob... its just $40 for some round lead/alum/and steel ring... lol
