Ebay's DC-S Headers (PIX Added)
#3
i do.... its an ok header. They look nice on the outside, but on the inside they dont look so good, kind of coarse and very poor finish. Ive had mine for about 4 months and no problems what so ever. It sounds nice and gives the power add (not much, but helps free the exhaust), you get what you pay for. I would recommend it, for the price, but any higher dont pay!

I think the word he was really looking for is "quality." Everything from quality of material to quality of bends, to quality of welds. Fit and finish type things.
Warped flanges, crimped bends and crappy welds are the trademark of cheap headers. You might not get all three, but chances are you will get at least one. And in my opinion it is worth it to pay the difference in cost to get a quality piece.

The success of the big name companies relies heavily on quality control. Without it their products will not sell. Without sells the company will fail. These no name, overseas companies rely heavily on volume production and low wages. They get the product built as cheaply as possible and offer it at lower prices in order to sell. And they know that their return rate will be low because educated buyers wouldn't be considering their products in the first place.
In instances like this you get what you pay for. Tolerance is lax so that the companies can create a faster production run. It is this single issue of quality control that allows things like warped flanges, crimped tubes and shoddy welds to make it out into the public. If a sub-par product ever made it through production at the big name companies it would likely never make it past inspection or shipping to get out in the publics hands.

I agree you get what you pay for, but I have bought many many parts off ebay and saved a lot of money. I have been burned a couple of times, but the savings is worth it. For what I have spent on aftermarket parts you could not even buy a greddy exhaust, and I am completely satisfied.
In the end it comes down to buyer beware and if you take a little time to research what you buy you will be fine.

No prob, I am going to have (hopefully) some of the SL guys in my area come over and give me a hand. I normally do my installs myself, but I want some experience on this one. I will take pics and post them up.
I don't know how long it will be before they get here, hopefully not too long
