Electronic Control Moduel?
Help any advice???
I have a 2006 scion xb it has flood / water damage almost to the hood. cranks over but I did that to many times and burned starter as I am told. I had just switched insurance so coverage is out I was in transition. Murphy's law. Anywho.
Any one out there that has had water damage and able to get scion operating again? I understand from a few friends that the ECM and starter are a good start, but some of my online research here reflects possible hydrolock (water in engine) any other suggestions?
I am looking at a hopeless situation.

in transition on insurance??????? you are either covered or you are not, come on man driving without insurance is irresponsible.
Your vehicle is flood damaged, yes your ECM needs to be replaced, your wiring harness will need to be replaced, and whatever else was submerged in water that is electronic on the car.

I had a friend killed in a traffic accident by someone who was uninsured, and that is what thier excuse was for not having insurance 'we were in transition'. regardless of situation, i stand by my comment.
i do not want to know anything about your personal life, I did not ask. You posted something that was an irresponsible move on your part.
I have no sympathy for people who are uninsured, this is the largest reason why insurance companies keep raising thier rates, because of people like youself.
turning around something irresponsible on your part and saying it is negative for me to say so is just ignorant.

This is not so much a social forum. But I wouldn't be too judgemental. We are all trying to succeed in life and the options that are in front of us are not completely neutral.
Too often I find that people that are rigid don't offer good advice. I hope Rox can work her way through her problems.
Muchpeace.
