Default Fujita CAI w/ Strut Bar?

I just purchased a Fujita CAI since Ive heard many great things about them as a company and their products. Then I was reading thru the intake sticky and saw this:

this is w3paint's xB. From the looks of it and from his opinion, the CAI wont work with a strut bar. I have the TRD Strut Bar and now Im worried...

Anyone have the Fujita CAI and a Strut Bar? Did you have any clearance issues? Any help would be appreciated...

Nice job on the engine bay. The intake looks great, but it looks like it's going to interfere with the strutbar. I hope it works out for you. It's always a shame to see a part wasted!

Where do you get all the covers for the hoses and stuff? Or are they actual hoses? Thanks!

thats a pic of w3paint's xB.

I dont have the Fujita yet, but it looks like it might get in the way of the strut bar.

I just wanted to know if anyone had the combo?

i would just get the SRI. i got mine this weekend and it fits really well and i dont think there would be any real performance difference. plus you get to keep your strut bar.

yeah but I dont like how the SR leaves a blank space in the engine bay. I got a good deal on the CAI version, not much more than what some people sell the SR for. I didnt get it for the performance, more for the bling factor at shows...

i gotcha. fair enough.

the clearence looks really tight for a strutbar. The angle of that pic is really hard to judge. it looks like the piping sits really high out of the engine bay. like the hood might even close on it. but i think thats just the angle. what about other CAI? how do they work with a strut bar?

yeah the pic is a weird angle. and I agree that the CAI prob isnt the better choice on the xB. hopefully it will fit, if not then ill just post it for sale in the PPC.

i think it will be really close. the piping is deffintly in the area the bar would go across. But you might get lucky because the bar might sit higher. its gonna be close for sure. good luck.

PS. they sent me a hat and duffel bag, NOS engery drink and a free replacement filter!

I have the K&N air intake and no issues with the strutbar or hood clearance. But the design is different then the Fujita intake.

you might want to try the tanabe strut bar. i've got the injen CAI in my xA and it fits with the tanabe bar. and i believe my friend kirby has the fujita CAI and he's also running the tanabe front strut bar and it has clearance.

good luck...sell the TRD and get the tanabe!

Thanks for the tip. The Tanabe is nice, but I like how the TRD curves up towards the front of the car. Just looks better (surprisingly the only TRD item I didn't mind having on my box).

I ended up ordering a black Injen cold air, IS2100blk.

Yes... the feces is in a state of cleanliness...

Haha, just got the Injen in yesterday and installed. Kicks the **** out of the K&N and AEM that I tried. Looks sick too! Very noticable gains!

Default cone air-intake simplified/cost efficent method

Hello All,

Has anyone here done a 3" cone air-intake (ie. Fujita , K&N, etc.) and just bought a 3" piping w/ a 45 degree(give or take) and just placed the cone on the upper part of the engine bay- next to the engine cover- to the right ??

I've heard stories about the differnces between how dense cold air is coming into the intake w/ a CAI , vs. having the air-intake/air filter more nessled in the engine bay(hotter air... but there are benifits to this as well) ... which can be/is a more cost effective way to go.

If anyone can chime in.. that would be great.. with pictures ??
