Default Has anyone tried wrapping exhaust pipe?

Just wondering how the car perform with the thermal wrap wraps around the exhaust pipe, on the xB

If I coat the pipe with the engine coat spray before wrapping, will there be any corrosion issue?

you aren't going to notice anything improved. yes, you will still have corrosion issues - the extra heat retained will reek havoc on the plain steel tubes.

If I'm not mistaken, I think thermal wrap is made for headers or the exhaust manifold. It is to serve two purposes: 1. to reduce the heat in the engine bay, and 2. keep more heat in the manifold/header area so the exhaust gases will flow faster.

bingo...^^^^^

i did it to my motorcycle. it also helps if you have to work around the exhaust. you will not get burned as easy as touching hot metal....
