HELP! Stalling problems
I just installed my perrin intake and have been experiencing stalling periodically over the past few days( and by periodically i mean two times in the past two days. Four times in the past week and two days). i have an auto tranny and whenever i slow to a stop the RPMs drop to about 300 and then they just fall to zero. My idle has gone down from 1100 RPM's to 600 RPMs. I knew the rpms would drop on account of the fact that its less work for the engine to do now that the intake is on.
Is it possibly because i have a grillcraft mesh grille with no heat sheild? it is just a strait shot to the engine bay and the Perrin intake is right behind the grille.
or could it be that it, or i, could have fouled MAF sensor at some point?

* Spray 99% pure isopropyl alcohol (available at electronic stores) onto the wires to clean and shake dry. Be careful not to use other solvents as they may damage the sensor.
* The wires will probably need more than just a spray to clean them so spray the alcohol onto a cotton bud and use that to wipe the wires. Be careful doing this as the wires can be easily damaged resulting in the need for a new sensor.
* The MAF sensor also incorporates the intake ambient air temperature sensor so it’s a good time to also give that a quick wipe.
* Once clean, make sure all excess cleaner has been shaken away, smear a tiny bit of oil around the sensor o-ring to make a good seal and reinstall the sensor into its housing.
Also, try resetting your ecu.

i actually removed the EFI fuse to reset the ECUand the problem seems to have corrected itself, although my RPMs are jumping a little bit still, only really in increments of 200. which is much less then before.
i guess it just needs some more breaking in
and also, after the reset the throttle response was noticably quicker, before the reset it was still noticably better, but after the reset it was above and beyond.

Is there any way for you to observe O2 sensor reading when the idle gets low? Something is really fooling the ECM when that happens and I'm just thinking whether its the wrong command to the idle air control or the engine runs so lean or rich @ low idle that it stalls. By the way, what does the Scan Gauge reads on the intake air temp and how much different is it from the outside air temperature?
