Default High Stall Torque Converters

Hey guys, I'm working with a company right now that is developing torque converters for the tC and I asked if they wanted to do a converter for you guys.

Please check this thread:

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=79058

Right now I'm in need of a torque converter, part #, or a donor to get the part built. Once they're built, I will be setting up a group buy for xA, xB, and tC owners.

If you have questions, respond in the above thread, or e-mail me. Thanks

A high stall torque converter will just about kill the streetability of these cars...bad fuel mileage as well. I don't see a need for it unless you're racing at the track every weekend and not driving it to work everyday.

i've got this 4krpm on a 3L turbo 3rd gen eclipse running 10 pounds of boost. it works just fine. no streetability issues whatsoever. and he just ran a 13.4@7psi with street tires in a 3300 pound car.

i'll prove that its a good mod once it's on my car

perfect. I'm going to try to buy one used to use as a template.

if anyone wants to use theirs as the template you can get it at a discount. otherwise it may take me a little longer to procure the part. thanks for the help vito!

**Stupid Question Alert** What exactley is a High Stall Torque Converter? What will it do for my xB? Is this that part that lets the cars at the strip get their revs up and stay locked in place?? Thanks...

I know what a stall does, but what are you trying to acheive on the Scion brands? They aren't known for big power and stalling it up won't help too much. On a turbo application, I can see where the benefits would be noticable...but buying one just to say you have one?

Yea I can see with a good setup like Simply has where needed one is necessary. It'd be an awesome mod for all forced induction and even some of the higher HP N/As.

id love to see some get it and see how it goes Props to matty for getting this going

OK how many high stalls have you had experience with? installing? racing? daily driving?

I'm not trying to be an ___ but they really do help.

4 days ago we hit the record for the fastest turbo automatic/sportstronic 3rd generation eclipse in the nation using a high stall. it's only .4 seconds away from the fastest forced induction 3rd gen eclipse... which was running 13 more pounds of boost and methanol without a high stall... and there was also a bad vacuum leak on the car we were running. my point? the high stall decreased the times by almost a second with NO affect on streetability. that's a huge jump.
