[quote="greenguyshrek"... I have already changed the oil once. But i will do it again.... i am going to change the oil one more time and will see what happens. Should i get another oil filter or just use the sameone?[/quote]

I don't see how changing oil can have any effect on possible engine damage, if that is the intent.

from my understanding the problem during a "hydrolock" is that water gets in the with the oil. the oil gets diluted i guess you can say. and there for loses its ablilty to lubracate parts causing all sorts of bad things to happen in the engine. if a minimal amount of water is sucked up then changing the oil can solve the problem. but since his oil came out looking like "chocolate milk" the damage was likly already done.

Ok guys, hydrolock is when you get water into the combustion chamber in an amount greater than what can be compressed. water doesn't compress that well. When it gets to that point the pressure in the combustion champer blows everything helter skelter(ever put a can of soda in the freezer and forget about it?)
Valves cannot open, piston doesn't move and boom.

Now with water in the oil, there is a fix, flushing it out real good, the bearings won't be all that good, depending on how much the motor was run but can be "fixed". I'll try to remember the chemical you use to clean it out, there is a commercial name for it. If I can find it I'll post it up, used mostly for flushing coolant out of the oil when you blow a head gasket, which can also happen during a hydrolock condition.

Best thing to do is just replace the motor, it will never be the same.

I hope that they are honest with you since you left on your intake and were honest with them.

I have seen this exact thing happen many times. The valves won't bend because they are closed during the compression stroke. What WILL bend is a rod. This is what usually happens. The bent rod, being shorter now, allows the bottom side of the piston pin boss to contact the counterweight on the crankshaft, causing the ticking or knocking noise. The usual result is one or possibly two (if you were going real fast) bent rods. It can be fixed. The engines don't typically run too long or well after a hydro-lock so water in the oil does little if any damage. All this brings us to the moral of our story; Don't go through high water! and also; Toyota sells and recommends only one particular cold-air intake system and now you know why.

toyota dealerships ask way too much unless you "know" them, if your intake is low to the ground (same setup) you should have already known after installation water is an ememy. higher mods equal higher attention tward the parts you installed. stock = "derrrr, dealership covers me right?" forget that, we are the few who look deeper, so think about it when you make a mod.

I just got the call from toyota, and they said that they are going to cover it. I am so happy I am getting a brand new engine. I would have paid $2000 just for labor + more for parts. I am so lucky.

That's funny. They won't cover defective clutches but they replace motors that were driven into deep water on purpose. Glad they are taking care of you. Strange none the less????

You didn't read quite enough of the post. They are replacing the engine under warranty (unfreakin believable) . Also, these engines DON'T have PUSHRODS! They are overhead cam motors.
