Default Injen SRI IS2100, should I worry about MAF being blown?

I am about to purchase an Injen SRI but I've read a few posts where people said their MAF are blown as a result of the intake. Then I read that Injen has since corrected the problem by providing a filter for the breather hose.

Has Injen recalled their previous intakes that blows the MAF? How can I tell if the intake I am purchasing has the filter correction?

Thank you in advance.

Just make sure it has the breather filter. If you buy a new one, it will definitely have it. If you buy a used one, it's a toss up.

The old models are still good though, just check the MAF every once in a while to make sure the filter oil doesn't get on there. Not everyone with the old model had problems, just a few.

Hope that helps.

Just incase, exercise a bit of preventaitve maintanence...--> Disconnect your battery and remove the maf sensor and inspect/clean regularly

blow MAFSs tend to be a result of an over oiled filter and has little/nothing to do with the intake itself.

what do you mean by a "blown" MAF?

i never heard of that. what actually happends?

so any oiled air filter (ie: K&N and the like) would do this?

Pressure is released from the crankcase through a crankcase ventilation hose back into the intake. This hose fits on the intake after the filter and before the MAF sensor and throttle body. Oil has the capability of being blown through the ventilation hose and bein sucked back into the throttle blowing over the MAF sensor.

Make sense paul?

The new injen intakes, including mine, come with an Oil Defusser that will absorb any oil that may be blown through the hose
