Yes, I'd definitely say it's worth it. For a grand, you pretty much get a different car. Granted, it's still not a racecar by any means, but the difference is phenomenal. But like someone mentioned earlier, I'd say do one mod at a time, unless you have the spare cash and want to get everything installed at once, since it'd probably be cheaper have everything installed in bulk...that is, unless you are modding it yourself.
Yes, with intake, exhaust, header, and pulley (I'd buy them in that order) you might only gain at most 10 horses, but since that's practically 10% of your horsepower, and since our boxes are incredibly light, it will make a noticeable difference.
I went with the popular and midranged-cost choice for all:
1) AEM CAI (with filter already installed)
2) Greddy EVO2 exhaust
3) DC Sports ceramic header
4) Perrin lightweight pulley
I'd also venture to argue that with these mods, you'd get better gas milage, since there is less strain on the engine. However, the tendency to want to put these mods and additional power to good use will cancel out the gas mileage gains.
If you have the cash, I'd say go for it. I'd also recommend a strut bar for added fun if you like to turn hard like me. I went with the DC Sports strut, but really I'd argue that any strut bar is probably as good since there really is no moving parts...(Just need to make sure it'll fit properly.)
With that in mind, good luck!

Definitely. Without it, I feel very timid when taking turns. I feel like I have to shift my weight to help reduce pressure off the frame and take the turn somewhat gently. But with it, I feel like I can turn on a dime. Perhaps that's why I wore my tires so quickly?

The I/H/E combo is worth the money. I noticed with the intake (perrin) the engine didn't sound like it was working so hard to suck in air, with the exhaust (dc sports) you can tell that there is less back pressure and the header (strup) get rid of even more back pressure. Hey joan you can pm me and if you want to get any of this I can help you with the install. They are all pretty easy.

^^^^ nothing "voids" your factory warranty, despite what the dealerships and people say.
by installing a non-dealer approved, aftermarket modification on your car, you basically risk the chance of having a part or system fail prematurely. so, if you take your car in for service for a particular problem, the dealership can determine whether or not that aftermarket mod did cause the problem. if they determine it DID cause the problem, then they can deny service under warranty.
but the header will definitely make you happier.
