Default Intake=better gas mileage?

My cousin has a 1998 Integra GSR, and he told me that his cold air intake provides a little better gas mileage. My friend claims the same and he has a 2000 Civic Si, If this is true, is it the same for Scion? because they claim only Hondas do.

Moved to PH...

I would doubt that it's very noticable... MAYBE 1mpg or less. But I can't confirm that either way.

it increases volumetric efficency when you upgrade your intake and exhaust you'll notice a larger power increase you will also notice better gas mileage if you drive it nicely. yeah you can get an increase in mileage.

Adding the turbonator will also increase that as well. Go get yourself a turbonator, it's superfantastic!

Now why in the world would one brand of combustion engine benefit from colder air and all other brands not? They all operate on the same principles. People like this amaze me.

Now I'm definitely getting my intake. I didn't want to get one because I didn't want to decrease my mpg.

i just installed the YDR intake on mine and see no decrease in mpg. def has to do with how you drive. as long as you dont floor it every signal light you'll be fine.
