INTAKE AIR FLOW SENSOR K&N
When you install a intake do u have to recalibrate anything like the air flow meter? or anything else? I installed a intake in my lexus and everything was off speed, rpms everything acted weird. So any tips installing a intake will be appreciated.
Im thinking about getting the K&N typhoon. any thoughts?

just make sure that you remove the negative battery cable for at least 5 mins- to about 15 mins and it will give the cpu-etc. A chance to recalibrate itself and then rehook after installation. I might sound like an idiot, but sometimes people forget :D

I've always wondered about the battery disconnect thing... I mean if you don't disconnect and it doesn't adapt, isn't that exactly what the ECU is not supposed to do? VVT-i is supposed to adapt to changing conditions on it's own, no? Granted I'm not about to find out by not disconnecting the battery, but j/c...

it is supposed to learn.....but by disconnecting the battery u reset the ecu and the fuel and timing maps it has created...and u force it to make new maps now with the intake installed....if u just put the intake on it would take awhile to "learn" create new fuel/timing maps.....either way u should end up with the same result....just one way takes longer...
which makes sense why a apexi v-afc doesnt work....the ecu would correct for that to...so sad....
