cold air has more resistance than hot air...so has it been cold there recently?

If just 'cold air' is causing a 10 MPG drop, I'll move to Death Valley. NONE of my other cars, through sub-zero(-20 at times) temps have had this mileage drop. I do understand that cold air creates more drag, but thats like saying that my mileage drop is caused by me not waxing my car often enough (a dirty car creates drag too!).

thats a 33 percent drop. it should have showed up on the exhaust test unless the catalitic converter is working over time to clear it.. check your plugs and see if they are black fromthe the engine running rich..

I was thinking that too...Maybe change them out. Can you recommend a good plug? I also read somewhere about indexing them? I wonder how many 'little' things are affecting this problem?

I started a new thread on here to see if someone can post up their emissions test results and I can compare them, but no takers yet!

I have tried 7 stations in my area now...and two in another town south of me.

I have been driving 6 miles each way to work and home...an ocasional stint on the freeway here and there, but I almost always end up staying beteen 30-40 MPH.

Should I get on the freeway and just DRIVE and DRIVE 70-80-90 MPH for a couple hours and then refill it and see if the ECU changed?

kill the caps and fix you "f" key , and your "b" key

resetting the ecu will only help if theyre been using bad driving characteristics and it learned itself in that manner.

if u were complaining about 32+ mpg then i'ds say that. but yer getting what 25?

what are your driving habits?
does your car feel sluggish?
is it bogging?
is the brake stuck part way on?
do you have huge wheels?
do you have a leadfoot?

If you read the whole post you would know more of whats going on as far as driving habits, wheel size, type of gas, where I get gas, etc.

And to let you know, I'm getting a consistant 22MPG...GO ME!!!

I understand where you are coming from with that other post about the 32 MPG, but to get on him like that? I think someone needs a hug...

does your car feel sluggish?
is it bogging?
is the parking brake stuck part way on?
do you have a subconscious leadfoot?
did your car do a lot of idling during 'break in"

Sluggish-No

Bogging-Yes..at the line if I nail it, it just bogs for a couple seconds. It WILL NOT spin the tires even with the Trac off. Also, when slowing for traffic or a light and then getting back into the gas, it bogs and/or takes forever to downshift (like from OD to 3rd or 3rd to 2nd).

Parking brake dragging-No

Subconsious Leadfoot-No. I continuously have my eye on the Speedo and keep it adjusted to whatever the limit is.

a lot of idling- Not during break-in, but I DID lock the keys in it with it running for an hour and a half (damn remote start). It had already gone over a few thousand miles at that point. And also, I didn't suffer the mileage drop till 4-5 months later (Oct.)

that bogging is quite worrying. sounds like an air leak/maf problem. and or your transmission control. auto right ?

Shouldn't those show up on the emissions test or check engine light?
