That is miles on a tank before the light came on. When the light comes on my wife panics, so I fill very shortly after that.

^^so true, my girl freaks if it goes all the way to the light, i think she thinks it is going to die within 5 feet if it turns on. So I have never gotten her car down past like 1/8 tank.

I am gonna wait a few more days until I post on this one. I think my xB just "opened up" or whatever you would like to call it.

I had been getting 26mpg on average. If it keeps up like I hope it will I will be getting 32 or better out of this tank.

We will see.......

I'm doing better too as my xB gets more miles on it. I've gone from 29 mpg to 31.5 and I'm climing.

375 when the light came on :-)

I usually get 36-39 miles per gallon on average, but that goes WAY down when I drive on the highway.

Weird that the "mod" moved this thread to "power hungry"! Whatever...I guess mods have to have something to do to justify their large salaries and benefits.

Don't have the most recent mpg, but I have 225 on this tank and still have a little more than 1/2 a tank.

Been trying a few things out to improve my mileage ( some folks think that what I am testing is just snake oil, but trying them one at a time and in combinations to see for myself)

I'm not much for spending $$$ on improving mileage, but let us know how your 'tests' work out.
This mileage things is like a hobby - almost an obsession. Hoping to consistently get 40 now that the a/c doesn't have to run so much.

Yep just a hobby here, figure I'll test a few things out that most people here call snake oil. have learned over the years to test things myself and not believe what someone that knows someone who is a second cousin says.Especially Professional Auto Techs.

I increased my total miles per tank just a tad: 408. The light came on at 393 (if I recall). I put 10.802 gallons in the tank at fill up. So it looks as if I could have gotten another 37 or so miles out of that tank.
But who's counting?

I average around 27-28, but I like to drive fast.

The best I have ever done is 35, and that was on the highway after I filled up with Premium.

Yeah, that light came on in mine this morning when I still had a 1/4 of a tank left. WTF??? They really must think that we are idiots if they have to warn us that far in advance.

Your needle was actually on 1/4 tank and the light went on? Mine usually goes on when the needle is halfway between E and the 1/4 tank line. Sometimes it comes on and then goes off again and then comes on and stays on about ten-fifteen miles later.

It's weird it is coming on in yours at the 1/4 left mark. I wonder if there is someway they can recalibrate or adjust your gas guage.
