Default motor swap

hey, whats up everyone? i'm pretty sure this topic has been talked about already but i couldn't find it. i've heard that you can drop a celica motor into this car very easily. well once i heard this i wanted to do it. i need all the info about what i would need to get to do this succesfully and what i would have to modify if anything. please let me know any info you have. plus if possible where i can pick up some of the stuff and the prices. i'm looking at doing this around summer time. any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks everyone.

Do a search for the "1ZZ" and you'll find all the posts about the swap.

^^^ though Tamago is right~ the 5EFTE (starlet turbo) is a better candidate for swap~

no theres cutting depending on who you ask anywhere from 2 inches to 4 inches. not too difficult to do just about any honda shop could easily do it.

Sure.

Any of the engines that are OEM in a Yaris/Vitz/bB/Ist will drop right in.

You have a choice of:

-1.0 liter 3 cylinder with 68 hp
-1.3 liter 4 cylinder with 88 hp
-1.4 liter 4 cylinder turbodiesel with 144 lbft of torque
-1.5 liter 4 cylinder gasoline turbo with 150 horsepower (turbo version of our motor)

Of course, none of those are EPA certified that I know of, so you'd have to do it yourself or find a mechanic that doesn't mind breaking federal law. I'm sure any of them could pass U.S. emissions once you've got it in though.

Tried to find engine codes, but I haven't had much luck.

I'd assume you'd be most interested in the T-sport motor...
If you do a search for JDM Toyota engines or "Yaris turbo engine" you can find it. It's relatively new I think, but you might find an importer in the UK that would ship you a long block.

I don't know if it is called 1NZ-FE or not, but it is bound to have "NZ" in the engine code because it is in that family.

It would probably be much easier just to get a Blitz supercharger or a Greddy turbo kit for your existing engine.

5efte is a hybrid...5efe engine wid 4efte turbo kit

4efte is the starlet engine

it costs close to 7k to build a 5efte to 350whp which was the goal for my camry

and the 4efte was swapped in a scion already along with other things

There is no such thing as a Turbo 1NZ, straight from the factory.

The turbo that you see, is the 1NZ TRD Turbo Kit. It does come from the factory, but it is an add on to the existing 1NZ that is already powering the xA/xB.

It looks like EL has already fitted the 4EFTE. It looks like a nice fit,.
