Default New intakes on the horizon?

I've just recently decided that I want to put an intake into my one month old xB and I have decided on the Injen IS series Intake for Scion xB (IS2100P).

But through some readings I've came upon several posts where people said that several companies are comingo out with new lines of intakes, are these rumors true? If so should I wait for them to coming to see if they are better?

Thank you for your helps.

Far as I know, Injen is still one of the top two intakes for the xB. Seems like that'd be hard to beat. I mean, it's just metal tubing with bends in it. Seems like it'd be hard for someone to come out with a product that vastly improves over Injen or K&N's designs.

there's not too much sense in waiting for a better product to come out... its hard to imagine anything coming out that would be so revolutionary that it would be so much better than the current intakes available.

At best, the only reason to wait would be to see if people come out with cheap knock-offs of current products.... which they kind of have already...

I have had my mass airflow sensor replaced because of my injen intake (both times I had to replace the stock airflow unit before the dealership would touch it under warranty). I've finally decided to go back to stock. The little extra go was not worth the headache. If I were to purchase another intake, I'd probably go with AEM because it's what the dealership offers.

However, I heard from a buddy at work that the MAS can be replaced or upgraded to a unit meant for handling a higher airflow. Does anyone know if this is the case. Have those of you with f/i had to replace this part ?

I have the Injen CAI and haven't had any problems with the MAF. Most of the times I read of problems, it was from oil from the filter or not wiping out the tube before install. I'm sure there are many other instances tho

As several people have noted, the AEM intake has been dropped from the Dealerships. Stopped by my dealer yesterday, and I found out why.

TRD is offering one now, at least for the xB. The accessory brochure I got does not list any specs, but if you want a dealer warranty, that's your choice.

the maf sensor problem was fixed when they released that little filter that goes on the vaccum hose (is that a vaccum hose?). any newly bought intakes wont have that problem. ive said it a million times, injen or k&n are the best out there, and they are so cheap its not worth waiting. also if you pay more than 150, your paying too much
