Default No more XB AEM Intakes via dealer due to...

...it causing almost every A/C w/ AEM CIA to blow not as cold in Phoenix, according to the Toyota Tech I spoke with today @ Right Toyota (Scottsdale, AZ).

Just purchased 06 XB today, getting factory mods this week:
TRD Quick Shifter, Assembly Clutch, spoiler and Carbon Fiber Appliques only

then to shop for lowering, exhaust kit, new wheels and induction system...

CIA seems the obvious choice for Phoenix vs. short ram but not at the cost of decreased chill from my A/C.

Is this the same issue w/ the K&N or Injen CIA's?

Thanks for any help..

I also have the AEM CAI along with the TRD exhaust and STRUP header. So far I Haven't noticed any change in the A/C cooling capacity, even at high freeway speeds.

This problem could stem from the fact that the air is much dryer in AZ than it is in TX, the lack of moisture could put a strain on the A/C.

I would not want this tech working on my car if he really thinks the intake could cause a problem with your AC.

Does the AEM CAI cuase the metal part of the wiper blades to walk out too?

I've got a rattle coming from my A/C compressor so I have to go to the dealer and see waht is up with it. Thank goodness my husband is a tech and I can walk in and tell them what is wrong so I don't get ripped off.

per dealer up here in seattle.. the AEM intakes thru scion were temporarilly pulled back to be "re-badged" as TRD....

Thanks for all the replies, didn't make much sense to me either. Probably am going with the AEM CAI anyway, NOT installed by the dealer.

This sounds a bit more realistic because the bottom line is money.
