I just installed the Nology Hotwires. also installed some Iridium spark plugs. My impression is that with the new plugs and wires car does rev up a bit smoother. The idle does become smoother. I would recomend the wires for sure, and it gives the engine bay a trick look.

hmm i'd have to see dyno results before buying more wires to go between my coil and plugs. that imo could only hurt performance

You cant be serious... There are no gains to be had with wires and plugs UNLESS you had a problem with the set you replaced. You are only experiencing the "performance improvement wishing" syndrone.

^^^ I agree!!!! unless the need for increased spark or more powerful spark is present, you're not gonna fell any difference......IMO

From what i understand the Nology wires Have a built in capacitors in the wires which allows time for the small coil packs to charge up and give a stronger spark to increase spark to the plugs. My original spark plugs were the regular NGK plugs. so going with the Iriduims i feel a bit of improvement.

You already have more than enough spark in stock form. The regualr NGK plugs are more than adequate. The plats and irridium can last longer and are popular in hard to reach applications as you dont have to change them as often. You will not gain anything from using these plugs in this engine.
These engines are designed to meet very tough ULEV requirements. A strong spark is already there .. capacitors in wires ? seems more like marketing than engineering... there is a rise/fall time for caps to function properly... less is more, no wires are best, direct spark which some cars use... having longer wires with caps or whatever seems counter productive..

interesting.... why the 30K mile change then? These plugs are used in applications that go to 100K. I doubt they perform well up to that point, but they do better than standard for long use. Thanks

Hotbox: i just looked at my old plugs and they were the regular ngk "R" v-power spark plugs . Are they really suppossed to come with Platinum plugs. If so why were my Oem only the regular plugs?

I was told they were platinum. hmmmmmmmmm i'm wrong , i apologize. fike.. but yeah i'm waiting on dyno.

wasnt this brought up in the past when they were fitted on the xA?
for about 200$ i'm dubious of the gains...

Where did you buy them at and what was included in the package?

I bought them from WWW.mmrusa.com for $189.95 in the kit is everything you need to install the wires. 4 wires/coil bracket/ nuts and bolts/ extra ground strap/ and insturctions. it is even CARB exempt. big plus for california.
