nology wires

No debate from me.... to be honest, I don't plan that far in advance.... I got Iridiums mainly to see what good they would do... to tell you what I expected from them, I still have my old plugs sitting here on my desk, in case the new plugs didn't work out.....

rtons copper offers better performance than iridium I didn't know that I will switch to them when it's time to change my iridiums how often do you change a copper plug. i also didn't mean to start a fire storm of a post I just got confused by this guys rambling on scion tech.

I wouldn't call people discussing like adults a firestorm, tiny minds playing 'so's your mother' is......
I always heard to change copper plugs every 12,000 mi.. But that was back when you ran points, too. I am soooo old......

Guys, the standard life of a copper plug is about 30k miles. You can do it earlier if you wanted but why waste money and time. I changed mine to this NGK number #2087 they are still copper plugs but they are NGK's "V-Power" plug. They use a "v" still center electrode promoting a cleaner spark. Performance wise I can't say that it offers much, but the mechanics and my father have been using them in Toyota's and Honda's when applicable. I haven't seen a boost in performance or gas milage but it's the tested and true plug for the shop. . . well for import vehicles from asia.

Rton20s have you tried iridiums because unless you have, I'll tell you again you feel the difference. I know I did and everyone else that I recommended them to felt the difference once they installed them. oh I'm refering to more power. I think alot of people don't want to spend that much $ on plugs. I think it's one of the best engine mods I've done, I wish I would have done them 1st. Peace. By the way I'm from fresno.

xbJoker, I think that if you believe in them, that's what's important to you. I have to say, though that after enough experience, I have come to really trust what RTon has to say. When he bothers to mention something, it's usually spot on...he's one of the few people on this board that really know what they are talking about, and can back it up with empirical proof.

I have used iridium plugs in the past, but don't now. And probably won't in the future.
xBjoker... When you switched from standard plugs to your iridiums, were you switching from the stock plugs? It has been stated several times on this forum and others that the plug gap on the xB is anything but consistent. I'm not saying that this was the case with yours. But if your stock plugs weren't properly gapped to begin with pretty much any properly gapped replacement plug would have shown an improvement.
And I'm not here to argue. If you are happy with the iridiums, good for you. Stick with them. I explained the pros and cons as I saw it. If you don't make a practice of changing plugs iridiums are your best bet. If you perform regular maintenance yourself and want to squeeze every once of juice out of a plug possible, stick, with copper. It's that simple.

I don't know about the gap kind of curious, just the other people in my club that went to iridiums said the same thing. not only smoother idle but seem to have more pep.
I seem to feel the difference better than the difference of a cai or exhaust.
I now live in san diego may look you up next time I head home to fresno, my parents are still there. peace.

OMG why did I read that huge ramble on scion tech??? And is it just me or should that guy writing the novel posts on there run for president with all the credentials and stuff he knows.
