The bottom two are tabs way off, probably an inch away from the bottom holes in the head shield. New holes would need to be drilled for the bottom screws, but just having the top two screws on tight keeps it on snug with no vibrations. Other than that, had no problems with the actual header fitment. Re-used doughnut gasket. Already had a K&N cai and Strup exhaust. While driving around tonight, I felt smoother and better acceleration throughout RPM range. Didn't hit the highway, but definitely noticed better around-town acceleration, like in the 3-4krpm range. The few times I floored it, felt it pulled better overall, and adds some chop to the overall sound.
Do you have any pictures that show the imperfections? I'm looking into getting this as well since its a lot cheaper than WR.

I don't have any pics of how the holes don't line up, sorry. I wouldn't call them imperfections though. I think someone mentioned that the header was designed for a different version of the car, so the support bracket and heat shield tabs would probably line up fine on that car. They aren't even necessary, most aftermarket headers for the xA/xB don't have the support bracket or heat shield tabs anyway. If you want to save money on a decent 4-2-1, go with the OBX. I haven't had any problems with mine.

Sounds good. Looks like I will be getting the OBX header. So it should install with no problems? Minus the bracket and heat shield. Thanks for all of your help.

No clue, but thats what I'm getting too. I personally think the ceramic looks better anyways. Post pics if you get it/install it.

Looks don't matter either way, you never see the thing.

The ceramic will help keep underhood temps lower, but I've seen the finish on some of the lower quality ceramic headers peel away after only a few months.

Either way, they're relatively inexpensive, so why not?

Hey Grant,

I got my OBX Ceramic header today. What's your method to getting the bolts off that connect the OEM header to engine? I'm having a hard time with a socket wrench and can't break any of them loose. I just got a breaker bar hopefully that does the trick.

I hear PB Blaster is the best. I used WD-40 since thats all that I had and soaked the bolts and spring bolts and FINALLY got them off after a few days of soaking them. The spring bolts were no joke, you gotta crank it until it snaps. I will post pics of it installed soon. So far the OBX 4-2-1 ceramic header is awesome, definitely makes a difference. Throttle response is sooooooo much better.
