Pic: TWE oil catch can

streetlethalxb,
After a close examamination of your install of the catch can, it looks like you installed it incorrectly, an oil catch can should be , if i remember correctly, in the PCV line, not the brake booster vaccum line. were there instructions that came with it?

UPDATE:
I got a CEL light today.. it was for a too lean code (i love owning a scanner), it turned out to be the threaded fittings at the catch can were sucking air, so I teflon taped them up.. no more CEL.. (it took about 10 miles to produce the code, test drove for 20 after the repair)

The catch can should be hooked up to the PCV, not the breather pipe. Air is drawn in through the air box and into the valve cover. From there, the blow-by vapor (unburnt sludge and ____) exits through the PCV and is drawn via engine vacuum into the intake manifold. The catch can acts as a filter between the PCV and IM to catch the blow-by vapor before it builds up in the IM over time.

^^^ well usually valve cover PCV systems have an "intake side" and a "exhaust side" so to speak... the side conected to the intake lets air IN while the side connected to the intake "manifold" lets air OUT.
it would be pointless to attach a catch can to the intake side, maybe a breather filter(eh...) most of the blow by is in the OUT line of the PCV system.ALL scions use this system, and as far as i know all other vehicles do as well...
streetlthalxb...A LEAN CEL from a catch can is pretty scary, that must be a decent sized leak...
Thats the one good thing about the WR uni tank, its pretty much welded with few screw on parts.

ok..
The leak was severe.. due to me just assuming the brass fittings were secure and not checking.. when I got the CEL, I looked and one was very loosely threaded in, and not tight at all.. so I proceede to repair that.. other than that I dont see where any future leaks would come from, the system is sealed..
It may look like a different install because of where I put the can, most are by the battery or on that side.. I had to run long hoses to the other side of the engine bay, and i used a coupler to attach to the stock line (scince it is that wierd size on either end)..
GOTHBOX:
Heres the pic of what you need to find or build to correctly clean your intake.. It will need a flow control, otherwise it will suck in way too much and die, etc.,.
Now to be completley off the subject
I had my camera at work so heres a pic of my toolbox in the middle of a busy day, dirty dirty
And heres a pic, of my favorite sight at work, my box standing alone in a sea of hondas (they all want to race me)
