i guess i missed this thread since i posted my suggestion in the pre-done thread

i think with seeing how it turned out, i almost wish it was a dual side exhaust setup with circles cut out of the sides of the rear bumper, leaving the middle part alone. honestly i dont much prefer the mesh, but i think you could definitely work on this and get it looking decent.

its a good start for a great unique setup, just needs to be cleaned up quite a bit! keep the thoughts flowing!

Or, something like this...

even a tighter mesh than that, maybe even painted black rather than silver.

I think the fact the mesh let's you see all of that muffler crapola would rule it out for me. Nothing about seeing thru a cut up bumper looks good to me.

I wonder if you could hack a billet or mesh FRONT grille and fill the space with that? Hmmm....

thats a super clean install! when i poened this i said to myself,

self, another thread on dual exhaust on a 4 cyl car.

i open it and i see some of the best welding ive ever seen. that y pipe is georgous.

the rear though has to be a little cleaner

maybe get a aftermarket lip and get the lip to go around the tip, i dunno

If you could make it look more seamless like this one, it would be impressive.

xbilly, nice photochop, much better than mine cause of the whole dinner situation, that is the exact effect i was going for, good job. I like the fact that you can see the whole muffler setup through the mesh, something different, you can actually appreciate the work and labor that went into it

why dont you take of the two sides and just not have a rear lip??? would look better imo.

oh man, i dont think ive ever heard an exhaust sound i liked so much. it had a really deep hum until 1,500rpm, then it cut off and sounded just louder than stock until 5,000 when it got a real throaty sound too it... very smooth and just wow sounding

i miss it so much... cruising anywhere it would never drone, and when i got on it it would let loose!

heres how i had the setup...
-2.5" piping after cat
-resonator
-ypipe to 2.25"
-magnaflow street series mufflers

Looks good.. although I'm not a fan of duals.

Trivia Time!!

10 bonus points to the person that can tell me why they started putting exhausts at an angle like that in japan.

i would put my money on no, because that resonator is the only thing giving you any backpressure and keeping your car from sounding like a ____ed off weedwacker.

it would sure as hell make it louder, but i would say more raspy loud than deep loud. the more piping you have the more deep resonance you will get. i cant see how you are going to add any more piping, besides going with a bigger diameter (which i dont recommend since you arent turbo'ed!).

also another thing you can try is completing your exhaust setup by adding an aftermarket header & high flow cat... that should free up some deep tone!
