Default POssible Engine Swap

Do you think you could get a Ford Focus engine into a scion xA? The cars are relatively equall in size, but I don't know. Do any of you?

the focus has about 150 hp which would be a great boost on a scion

yeah uhh no. You can get more than that from your xA. Check out last months import tuner on the xA with all that power. Better to keep the old motor than put in a ford motor.

yah i saw that, but would it just be easier to get a stock engine instead of making your engine a 1.7 liter, and then adding on so many things to get there?

No, it would be easier to purchase a car that was faster / more powerful in the first place.

I'm definetely not trying to pee in your Cheerios, but it's been my experience that it's much easier to mod the original engine, or atleast stick w/ the same auto manufacturer as far as an engine swap goes.

I would not recommend replacing a well built / reliable Toyota powerplant with a Ford engine. It may have more initial horse power, but the Toyota will be running when the Ford 4 banger is nothing but a huge paper weight.

Put a twin-turbo Toyota V8 in a Scion & convert it to rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. Now, that's a plan worth discussing.........

i was curious about this too..... except i was thinkin celica motor in the xa/xb. can it be done. if i were to consider that move it would obviously be further down the line if i purchase an xA at all. would be nice to have the gts motor in there ya know? if anything you'd probably end up losing the ac blah

they don't make drugs strong enough. . . foci motors are crap, and their base models are not any faster than the xA. Trust me, I know. My old roommate had one, and he could not beat me. An SVT Focus, sure, but not a regular Focus. If you wanted an SVT motor, there are PLENTY of better options. You might as well get a 1.3 Mazda Renesis engine (rotary). . . or a 2ZZ, or 4AG, or SR20, why in the world would you chose a FOCUS motor?????

never got the 3sgte...couldn't afford it

and if you could swap a focus engine...then you should be able to swap the chevy 350 small block because they have a kit for that now and they sell a twin turbo kit for the small blocks as well so your looking at a 600hp monstor....no joke

I'm currently helping 2 others do their 2zz swaps because they have shown me they are serious. I stopped helping others a long time ago on this forum because nobody is serious anymore except for a few people and they know I respect them and will always share my knowledge.

I've got 3 scions, xB, xA, and a totaled xB and one of them is running a stock 4efte at 16psi right now. It's a 1.3L and needed 2 days of modification to bolt on. Why do people think an engine swap is hard?

Unless you have 6-7k...then 3sgte is outta the picture. I ruined a perfectly good frame and firewall doing it cuz my budget was 3k.

I have Modacar hitting me up for my 2zz engine mounts...I don't need to prove anything to anyone anymore.
