I meant what do you need in terms of actually mounting the engine/trans in the xB. Do the mounts come close? Do you need to weld mounts from the car the engine came out of into the xB? Do you need to make mounts?

1zz vs 2zz:
http://www.toysport.com/Technical%20...tech_notes.htm

Short summary: 2zz not as good, though maybe they fixed it by now.

Anyone here have either engine installed?

the 2zz is good for n/a , the 1zz has more potential because of the extra torque and the lower compression ratio.

only problem with the 1zz is the lack of aftermarket support. you can custom a turbo to it, but thats about it. i looked into building it up but its not worth it. but if u just want a little more power, then just drop it in and drive it, it'll be cheaper than a turbo kit. and the 2zz, not worth it at all in my opinion, way over priced and power is not that great even after turbo. with a kit and full exhaust you will be looking at around 250whp, a lot, but not for the price ur gonna have to pay.

cosmo setup eh? rotoraies are cool but they have a helluva time passin smog and they frickin ingest oil like no other. they gulp that ____ , lol , rotory is a popular swap in 510's.
if you can get some sort of fwd tranny to fit one do it , it'd be too frickin cool.

KEP makes a kit to mate a Rx7 motor to a VW tranny... seems like a plausable option. I think that I will wait, and save enough money for the motor I really want in my xB. a V8. I'm not talking about a ford 302 or a chevy 350... I'm talking about the one that's made by "Radical Sports Cars" in Peterborough UK. It's basically 2 hayabusa engines. It displaces 2.6 litres and produces 383hp and 207 lb/ft. it'll also fit in a 24"x 24" x 18" space... VERY compact. Quaife is producing FWD AND RWD trannys for this motor. who wants to hear a v8 in a xB at 10000 rpms???

I often think about a Pro Street xB. Build a tube frame and some tubs, loose the back seat. A stock 5.0 would be plenty, can we say 12 sec. 1/4mile runs!!!
