Power steeing belt replacement; how to?
hey guys,
got to replace my power steering belt today, saw a diagram using the search, but a bit new on changing things. Anyone know how to replace the belt?
i know u have to remove the serpentine belt in the process, i even saw someone say u need to loosen the alternator to do so, but i dont want to mess with timing...
ideas? thx..

ya you can take the belt, run it under the drive belt by spinning the pulley and then put it on, its a _____ tho, and make sure you get the power steering pump tensioned right or itll slip alot, just enough to be noisy not affect performance. and after you get it on, the car will run like sh*t at first cuz the timings off, just let it idle and keeep it runnin with the gas, and itll work itself out after 30 sec to a min, turn it off and start agian and should be good, how mine was. i had forgotten it did that when put lightweight pully on too lol

thx for the help guys, but i took my wheel off yesterday to get a better look and i still dont see how im gonna get it off...its on the inside of the crank pulley, where the diameter is smaller, and its tight ofcource, so i dunno how i could "slip" it off..

I just loosened the alternator, and the powersteering, take belts off, reverse process. The bolt for the power steering, you will need need to move the pulley until you see it. If you need some help (if you haven't done it already) I am in Camarillo, just PM me or call 415-6976, names Montoya.

did you get it done? hey man, put a *star* washer under the power steering tensioner bolt before you finish, i had to becuase mine came loose 2 times and threw my belt, just recently after i had to replace it. and it was hella tite before and i was loosening and tightening the pivot bolt too, just put the star washer on, mkes it worry free lol.
