Default Rank exhaust brands from loudest to quietest.

I am looking for the quietest exhaust for the xB. How would you rank hte different brands from 1 being the loudest to the quietest being ranked last?

I haven't heard all of the exhausts, but I have the Espelir and as others can say as well, its LOUD, but I like it, its deep, never gets whiney or raspy, it fits well and the finish is great.

Do you mean loud outside or inside?

The Strup has a nice deep tone. It never gets raspy or whiny. I'm never outside my car while it's moving so I can't account for the level while moving. Inside it's fairly quiet except around 55 MPH in the manual transmission.

I have heard from several people that the Tanabe exhaust is probably the quitest option out there. I have heard it in person, and it is quiet, but has a good tone. This is the exhaust I am looking at getting for the wife's xB.

When I had the Tanabe Hypermedallion it read in the low 80s dB at around 4k rpm. One of the loudest was a custom w/ a 14 inch glasspack for a resonator w/ a Magnaflow SS Race series muffler at 98 dB.

JiCs were pretty loud also since in was a small cylindrical muffler.

Strups are pretty quiet also.

I personally use InVidia and it is VERY VERY quiet. the quitest exhaust ive ever had on any of my cars. When the car is on, warmed up and ready to go its a very low, subtle, hardly noticeable, remus racing like sound. Considering i made it a cat-back at my local muffler shop and i have a header, this exhaust is quiet and i love it , LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!

Is there such thing as being in love with sound of your car?

I believe the TRD is supposed to be the quietest, or near it, and the Blitz is also pretty quiet. I have the Blitz and it is quieter than everybodys around here(mostly Strup around here), very nice unobtrusive tone, no droning whatsoever, and truly seems to match the size of the car, what I mean is that it doesn't sound like a small motor trying to sound like a V8 or some huge motor, it's in proportion to the car. Really only noticeable whenever you get on it. Excellent quality too!!!

loudest to quietest with a combo of i/h/e:
Espelir (deep tone though)
Jic (deep and aggressive..i run with this one)
Hks (fairly deep)
Strup (not too loud, only on top end)
Magnaflow (kind of annoying if you ask me, but i've only heard one)
Tanabe (fairly quiet)
InVidia (very quiet)
Borla (extremely quiet)

Those are the ones i've heard personally, i've heard a few others but can't remember off the top of my head. Espelir and Jic set ups are pretty rare here, i only know three on scionlife that run Jic including myself...But i always get compliments with the set up.

Thanks guys. Personally, I like the Tanabe quality and Magnaflow price so I will consider those two as options.

Thats nice and all but as far as quality goes, jic, hks and strup imo have some of the best quality exhausts for us.

EDIT: Magnaflow does have a great price though. Tanabe quality is pretty well, its a nice set up.

Don't care for their exhaust(s). I do like their f/i set ups and a few other things they do, but exhaust(s) isn't something i would buy from them. JMO, i know some that love their set ups though.

Lowest Ive heard is Tanabe personally. It sounds good and I really like it.

Personally, Im running a straight piped JDM driver side exit exhaust. Pretty loud at times of low RPMS, but quiets down near the 4K mark.

The TRD Exhaust is relatively quiet and tame between idle and 3500 RPM. Between 3500 and 6500 it becomes a bit loud. When the exhaust is coupled with a header there is a big difference in sound. It does get a bit louder, but damn does the tone get pretty deep. It will also make the cabin a bit loud at highway speeds as well. Build quality is excellent as it's a TRD part, and it looks good on the back of my xA. :D

I personally love the TRD exhaust, but, as far as loudness goes it's my limit. If I get another exhaust it will probably be a Tanabe. I would put this one on the same category as Strup.
