Default RS 2.0 DC Sports Exhaust Problem...Crappy Weld? Tip is gone!

Okay, so I know I haven't backed up into any curbs, or hit any speed bumps or anything. My exhaust was fine for the meet on Saturday night. Then, I'm going out to my car on Sunday in a parking lot, and my exhaust looked funny. Upon closer inspection, I found that the tip is gone. I took some pictures for you guys and when I was putting them on my computer, I realized I had pictures from the day I got my car, and then from this week...here's what I found.

Brand New, obviously nothing wrong. (with a close up on where the tip is welded to the muffler)

Within the last week, does the weld look cracked? (again, with a close up on where the tip is welded to the muffler)

And now look at this crap.

If the dealership refuses to take care of this, then I guess it's time to call Charlie at Stup for new exhaust, and a header too.

quite a few people have had the same problem. I havent checked out mine yet but im thinking of calling the dealership and setting up an appointment to have them look at it and see if it is actually cracking. some got theres replaced from the dealer because it did come with our RS 2.0's. If you go get it replace by toyota. Make sure they order the right part. some ordered a tip which is the other accessory Scion has.

Any word on how good of a job they did replacing it? Isn't the tip etched with like, "DC" or something? I don't expect them to replace the entire exhaust, of course. I just wonder how good of a job they can do getting a new tip on there.

the whole exhaust is gonna have to be replaced. they dont sell just the DC Sports tip. So its actually cool that we will be able to get a whole new exhaust!

Damn, I'm supposed to go up there on Saturday when I get a chance to see what they have to say about it. Do you know if they are replacing it with the mufflers that still say "Scion xB Release Series 2.0"?

I hadn't heard about this. Thanks for the heads-up, I'll get mine looked at.

Don't know if the new exhaust comes witht the RS2.0 etching.

yeah it does. someone on here got the new one and it had the badging. if it didnt i wouldnt want it, just cause you would think since its a package thing, they had replacements for it. just like our door sills, and our grill.

It's just probably gonna happen again if it's replaced by another DC unit. I'd get a Magnaflow street series muffler and have a local shop weld it up for you. Inexpensive and sounds better than the DC.

I'm concerned about the same thing. However, it's not like the dealership is going to give me the option of taking cash and dealing with it on my own. If they are going to do anything, they are going to replace it with the RS 2.0 exhaust. It's part of the release series package.

If I did have that option, or if the dealership refuses to take care of it. Then I'll go to Strup cause he sponsors Scikotics.
