With the car off, unplug one at a time, turn on your car, if the idle doesn't change, it's not good, if there's a huge difference in idle, that coil's good.

I have an xB, and wife has an xA; so I pulled mine, and put them in hers, to double check, and it was the problem. Bought new ones, no CE, and car is running good.

I'm new to Scions and just purchased a 2006 xB yesterday. The independent dealer I bought it from purchases and sells alot of these and he seemed to know then inside and out. He told me specifically ever have a idle problem or misfire that the first thing to check is the coil packs as 1 or both of them being bad is the most common thing to cause that specific problem. I just watched a video on YouTube of a guys bed and after change of the coil packs, and I believe he said he tried many other things before the coil pack. Now of course we all know that multiple things can cause this issue, and I admit I am no expert, however after what my dealer said and after watching the video I watched I just thought I would share the information that I've learned in the short amount of time I've owned the vehicle.
