I have never side gapped but here is my 2 cents.

Over the years anything that has proven useful has been incorporated into the products we buy from oil to spark plugs to turbos ECT.

Side gapping looks a lot like what Bosch does with its +4 plugs seen here http://static.flickr.com/40/85928573_5c9d2adb42_m.jpg

The “go-fast” guys don’t like the Bosch +4 as its just more chance of getting an electrode arm in the cylinder or so I’ve heard.
I have never seen a case of this happening tho.

That being said I bought the Denso Iridium plugs.
I don’t expect any real HP gains from them as it’s only a 100 HP motor but I do expect consistent performance for years to come.

I've never seen side gapping, but in theory looks like it would work, however it's benefit would be damn near invisible on our motors. I'll stick to indexing my plugs instead, much less labor intensive for the most part.

It seems to reduce the surface area a spark might form on, so it could reduce life.

I don't see the point.

That website seemed like a lot of wishful thinking.

Just buy Bosch +2 or +4 plugs.
