OMG man you could not be more right. I am in in "Man Love" with you LOL. I am so glad you suggested the EVO2. I love it, it sounds freaking Awesome. In the cab I hardly even notice it at all. When I roll the windows down (all of them) I still barely notice it. When I get on it it starts to sound like a Greddy should. Even at 4000 RPM at about 80 MPH on the freeway it is not loud to the point where I cant here myself think (like the Strup was). I would highly recommend this setup to anyone who wants a semi quiet exhaust that looks really nice to boot.

My TRD just puts out a nice snarl, not terribly loud. Reminds me of 60's British sportscars... It does drone at 60 mph. In racing two stroke parlance, that's where it's right on the pipe...
I suspect that the Tanabe touring medalion is a little bit quieter... don't expect any aftermarket performance exhaust to be as quiet as stock...
Sound deadener in the rear hatch, cargo area, and rear quarter panels makes a world of difference- highly recommended, even if it's only to reduce road noise...
There are lots of aftermarket exhaust tips out there, as well, if you want the look without the noise...

I put the stock one back on for now. Has anyone else had the same thing happen to them or similar? If so what other exhausts have you found that are much quieter and still look as good as the Strup? Thank you for any help or insight anyone can offer in advance.

I had a Blitz axle back before the Strup. very quiet (for me) sexy angled JDM polished stainless stell can. and fits the stock exhaust cut out perfectly. i paid a pretty penny for it at the time but its worth it.
the TRD is quiet but has a nice grumble to it. i love my Strup. wouldnt trade it for anything.

the strup is possibly the best tuned-sound out there for our scions. it is not overly loud like rice fart-cans that we see on the streets, but its not too quiet to not notice. it looks great and it kicks in at the perfect times, and the strup headers compliment the exhaust perfectly. ever since ive run this set-up, ive gotten nothing but praise and compliments, as people have said that the engine sounds a lot more tuned and opened up. it sounds like it breathes better and youll really notice performance gains when you want them.

its been great so far. everyone that has seen the car or been in it/driven it has had nothing but positive reactions. ive gotten several people to either get this or consider getting one to replace their stock or even other exhausts

i put the strup on, and it sounds sounds great!
the header is still in my backseat tho.
i HAVE NOT noticed any performance gains, infact ive noticed the opposite. it no longer zips from 2000-3000 RPM like it used to, killed the engine braking, and its no longer fun to drive in the city. it used to pull quite nicely up a steep hill in my area at 2500RPM no problems... not anymore. the engine seems "out of breath" and is downright lathargic. ive only had it on since saturday so maybe ill change my driving habits to use the top end of the rev band more since thats where all the power seemed to go and maybe the strup header will compliment the exhaust. but for now i see the stock setup going back into service very soon...

thats strange, havent heard that at all. try and see what the header does, but even when i was running just the exhaust for about 2 weeks there was a small noticeable difference, and it was positive. im running the exhaust, header, and injen CAI

Yeah, that's strange. Mine has short ram intake, Irridium plugs and stock header and pulls way better with the Strup than with the stock muffler. It actually revs up quicker because of the reduced back pressure.

I have the strup universal muffler on my xA, so it may be different but...
I hated the muffler the first couple of days it was on...LOUD AS HELL! After a couple days it quieted down alot, its sounds perfect now. It came with a silencer, and with that in it sounds just as quiet as stock.

Thought I'd chime in, I have the Strup header and tried the exhaust but it wouldn't fit with my modified rear end. My setup is a bit crazy at the moment, with a TDR CAI, Greddy supercharger, Strup header, 2 1/4" cat-back piping, Flowmaster Hushpower II lowrider muffler for ground clearance, and a Magnaflow 18" x 3.5" tip axle-back. It's a very clean but very loud sound, and does drone quite a bit since I don't have a resonator. I tried an Apexi passive Super Silencer, it cut down the noise but lost noticeable performance.
I've since switched to the Apexi Active Tail Silencer, it has a bypass valve built in to route around the silencer middle tube whn under load, and seems almost as responsive as running without it. The thing is pricey, but seems to be worth it for performance, and it's actually quieter when not under WOT then the super silencer. It will only fit a 90 or 110 mm (3 1/2" or 4 1/2") opening depending on the size ordered though, so it wouldn't work without modification in the Strup. You could possibly get a 90 mm one and put a 100mm diameter, 5 mm thick piece of metal tube to make up the clearance difference.
I'm going to try and get a dyno with vs. without next time I have a chance at a show.
