Default Throttle body and header questions.

Does anyone make a aftermarket throttle body for the 1nz-fe???? If so would it make any difference at all?

At this moment there isn't any aftermarket throttle body. Your best bet is to swap one form another toyota that matches the bolt patern. I have talked to my machinest and looked at boring our TB. But that's not working out either.

Why are you looking at getting a larger throttle body on a stock motor? Is it a restriction stock or with bolt ons, no. The only time it should be considered is when forced induction is part of the equation, other wise it is a waste of money.

Our throttle bodies are just about at max flow for our motors, only thing would be to go with one about the size of the 1.8 Corolla.

And for those that talk about not doing any good on a stock motor, a good example is the throttle body swap done on Neons. with them going to a TB from an auto trans, which was larger, gave about 20 more hp. Have done it before.

For those thinking of boring one out, look at the ECHO forums, they have done it and it works.

Thanks frogbox. Can you sent me a link to those echo forums, thanks. I am not familiar with the echo engines. Do you think the echo TB will fit on ours? My concerns with boring is that the material will get to thin and it will not hold up when boosted. And that the water jackets have to be sealed off. Also the openings for the egr might have to be sealed off. And that might give cel's.

First, the Echo and xb share the motors, ecus are different.
I will try and find the link and post it here for you.

there is a company that bores them, direct bolt on so no worries about any other modding ( water jackets or adding S/C or Turbo)

here is a link to an Echo forum, they will know more , I hate searching there....hope it helps
