Default Transmission Question

Quick question to see if anyone else has had this problem. I bought my xb in april or so and it has about 7k on it id say..but the problem I have been having lately is that the transmission shifts late sometimes. I do not know why it is doing it maybe its normal and I am just freakin out about it? I never owned a toyota or jap car b4..I know honda's shift hard but never late. Anyone have any ideas what it might be or have same prob? Also it really only does it in the mornings and I let it sit usually for a minute or so before I start my drive to work. Thanks for all your help in advance.

On most late model AT equipped vehicles, this is a normal funtion of open-loop (startup) operation. The ECM will retard shifts, and usually lock out overdrive until the coolant has reached a specified temperature. The purpose of this is to keep RPM's up, hence warming the engine faster. So if it's just doing it when the car is cold, and doesn't last more than 5 minutes or so, I wouldn't worry. Otherwise, take it to the dealer! Warranty!

What Pimp Sling said...

This will happen until the blue light to the right of the clock turns off, and is what the blue light signifies... not being warm.
