Tsudo exhaust

Tsudo exhaust
Just finished putting on a Tsudo axle-back exhaust on my xB (yes, the one on Ebay) . After taking it for an extended run I can say the sound is great, nice and deep and mellows out at highway speed. With the silencer installed it's almost as quiet as stock with no noticable cabin noise. Fitment is great with a little adjustment when installing the clamp at the rear.

I had mine on for eight months with out problems, and this was December-July in Wisconsin (e.g. think salt and lots of it). It was full-stainless, too. No rusting, corroding, etc. The welds were beautiful, full polish, and so on. The only issue was fit. It didn't fit perfectly; I had to trim a very small section of the rear bumper on the Prelude. Overall, the fit was a 7-10.
Mabye earlier Tsudo stuff was crap; my Tsudo N1 for the Prelude was great - deep, low tone, too. Keep in mind that sound is a relitive thing.

i got the tsudo off ebay haven,t had no problems yet and had it for 4 months .I did run it for awhile with out the silencer but the constant humming would put me to sleep kind of like white noise so i put the silencer back in .
i have no complaints and it's cheaper than paying 500 and up.

Yeah, I got it off Ebay for 160 shipped, I would give the fit a 9 out of ten, only because the tip wasn't centered in the bumper, a little bit of aircraft safety wire and it sets dead center.
I couldn't see spending 300 to 500 for an exhaust, I figured that if I didn't like the tone or wanted to change the muffler I would already have the larger piping from the axleback and it is stainless as well it wasn't crush bent. I could change the muffler and still be under 300!

I agree with you ikonXone, however, it was my experience that the Tsudo as as good of quality as some of the more well-known exhaust systems on the market. Although it might not be made in Japan or the US, the quality of my Taiwan-made Tsudo was pretty darn good.

The way I look at it is that I'm not going for any real hp gains with an xB. An exhaust system is an exhaust system as long as it A) Fits good and B) sounds nice. I really don't give a damn who makes it; if I can save some cash by getting a Tsudo axle back vs. an Espelir, Greddy, etc. (again, as long as it sounds and looks good, isn't made like crap, and fits right), why wouldn't I? No, I can't tell people I have a name-brand exhaust system, but I really don't care about that. That's just my opinion; I'm not saying it's wrong to buy name-brand. I'd bet that the big-name companies probably put a lot more R&D into their products to get the max horsepower. However, like I said, I'm really not looking for any big gains with the xB (not that an axle-back is going to give you big gains, anyway).

it doesn't take a genius to weld an exhaust. the thing i worry about is the longevity of the packing inside the muffler.
i've had good experience with magnaflow. i ran one on a boosted sr20det for a few years and held up with the boost, backfires, varying out of whack A/F setting, winters, and dings. held up fine with no problems.
if you guys ever look for mufflers, make sure it comes with a perforated core. stay away from louvered core mufflers.
