Turbo vs. Supercharger vs. Naturally Aspirated

N/A for me, saving up for a house. :D ...although an S/C (low end grunt) is very very tempting
The only way a warranty can be voided is if the force induction system is at fault and you installed it yourself or at a NON-Toyota facility installed it. Unless otherwise noted on some disclaimers.
Don't let the dealership say you voided the warranty for having a force induction installed when that system is not at fault. You have federal rights (can't think of the law at the moment.)

And after sinking $15,000+ into an xB, the last thing I want to do is void my brand-new engine's warranty. Just my dos pesos.

Yes, the Moss act is a great thing and I am familiar with it.
I just remember when I bought a Ford Focus it stated in the warranty info that I signed that forced induction would void the engine warranty. I purchased an extended warranty thought, and that might have been where it was stated.
The problem is that by adding forced induction, the dealer can say that because of the extra stress put on the engine by the turbo/supercharger that's why part xyz failed. Yes, you can fight it, though (unless it's disclamed that you will void the engine warranty if you have forced induction).

personnally, if it was going to be a daily driver and needs to be reliable ... I would go with the Supercharger anyday... But if TRD is coming out with the turbo kit from the Vitz like they told me on Wednesday I would definitly pick up a TD turbo kit...

turbo is best of both Worlds
Turbo is the best of both worlds, I would pick Turbo. I like N/A, but bottom line is, you can make more useable power with Forced Induction, period! With S/C you get bottom end response, but you loose in the fuel mileage department. Turbo, generally you get more top end. But, done right you will get almost instant throttle response and, you get to keep your gas mileage as long as you "stay" out of boost. The 4th option should be NOS not stock.
You will only start breaking stuff or become unreliable with either, when you step over that imaginary line of too much. As long as boost is ressonable nothing will break. You start going crazy with the boost, then everything will break.
Hope this helps some of you?

i don't really see why you'd need more top end power... the car is at 4k rpms when its doing 80mph on the freeway... you'll get a whole 2.5k rpm's more to play with. i'd go with an S/C, but since its TRD turbo, i'd go with it.
when is TRD's turbo coming out anyways?

gotta go Turbo.
the top end power is great.
and if the turbo is small there is virtually no lag.
but...
the supercharger is great for daily driver.
But then again this is an xB. like someone else here said, are you
really going to be racing your box?
I just wish the car had the 160hp tC 2.4L. that has a little more ooomph
and passing power. thats all i really need. Im buying the car not for its
***** to the wall power. its roomy reliable and unique.
i dont think the 1.5L motor was made to make huge amounts of power.
even if it holds up to 200hp or so (which i doubt) the engine will be under
alot of stress.
i'd get an xB and save up for an EVO or STi.
then you can look over to the car next to you and
