Default Update: STi Xb

Alright, done some seroius mesureing and thinking, i'm going to stick the STi gauges, seats, tranny, engine, and drivedrain into the cube, IF you haven't seen the eailer post, I'm trying to find a wrecked STi for a resonable price, I've checked the obvoius sites, but if you know of an underground site or of someone in your neighbor hood I'd like details please.

I think you need to put an option on your poll that reads....

Sweet idea dude, but it won't work

Yea... have you thought about the money involved in even trying to make this work? For the money, you'd probably be better off just buying a Subie.
If you are independently wealthy and you can make it work, that's awesome.

If you have the thousands of dollars this is gonna cost you then do it, but if your just an average joe like the rest of us and you want to have a subbie engine, then buy a subbie. Its not worth your time to bother and put a STi engine in the box. Unless your going to make it a dedicated track car, or drag racer this is simply RIDICULOUS. Im not one to kill people's idea (to each his own), but seriously if you wanna go faster put in the 1ZZ or 2ZZ from the celica. You have a better chance of fitting that engine in then the subbie.

I cant even begin to explain how much money and time your gonna loose with this project.

Ok, for one thing this IS going to be an inexpensive project dz said it all SALVAGE, im find 2k motors on some of these sites, poket change thats less thana turbo guys, thats what fueled this project, the turbos are more expensive than a wrecked STi, I know it takes time, but Ive got that, And i know some of the world's best fabricators(through my dad) and have been brought up by motor junkies, THIS WILL WORK, repeat, now knowing that this will work im not going to start on it for atleast a year(warrenty) and I need to have some possitive feedback on the issue, WORK WITH ME PEOPLE, Now i need subies wrecked, any suggestions?

Why are you worried about the warranty if your gonna completely change the car? Dosent make sense...."Lets wait for the warranty to go out and then screw up the car".......

Hey man, if you pull this off you will have AMAZING levels of respect in the scion community along with myself. BTW, im not saying the parts will be expensive just the labor and all the cutting, welding and fabricating.

As for junkers, i dont know of any, but, once again if you think you have a chance to make this work THEN DO IT!!

It will work if you really have the following.

**** loads of money
knowledge of how stuff works
access to people who are willing to performa such a task.
Being able to be without a vehicle for 6 or so months
and last but not least....Parents who are willing to let you devour your gas saving xB which I am assuming they bought for you...(could be wrong?........I did by my own vehicles when I was 16) for the sole purpose of????? Trying to be "unique"

Well if you have all these things and you can get it done....

But...I personally would keep the heart of the car in the same family.....try to find a Celica All-Trac motor or something...never been a fan of swapping engine makes

You can't hardly get a Nissan sr20det motor for $2000. Those engines were really popular due to some key line in "The Fast and the Furious". What makes him think he can get a STi engine for that price is beyond me. Wait! Find Carl the crackhead and give him $45 for his STi, so he can buy more drugs! I am not saying the swap can't be done. I am not saying that he will no do it. I am saying that he is going to be paying more than $2000 for what he is looking for.
