I think it is a great idea... But realisticaly, NO!

I see that you are 16. Your post in general means 1 of 4 things:

1.) Your parents are way too rich.
2.) You are a trust fund baby.
3.) You have a 6 digit income already.
4.) You just thought you would post up something that sounded cool not realizing what was actually involved and how much money it would cost.

Personally, I am voting for the latter of the 4.

Oh P.S. I know about "respect your elders"but maybe you should listen to someone that could be smarter than you. Maybe I am in over my head, and if that day comesi'll apologize.

Really kid, good idea. But there's alot of fabrication that needs to be done, that is not "extremo cheapo". I'm not saying it's impossible. But realistically, DREAM ON. Engine swaps aren't that simple.

just did some measurments....so....um....where you going to put the turbo? your footwell? and the driveline would cause the car to sit6-8 inches higher, unless you want to run a fuel cell and cut out the floor. Plus there is no subframe back there. Have you ever seen an sti's wiring harness? its absolutely massive. good luck with that. Zpi already stated the chassis canot suport much more then 220whp. Did you factor in the price of all the fabrication required? new front cradle, brakes line mastercylinder, rear cradle, custom driveshafts for the rear diff, and all the firewall modifications, fuel pump and fuel cell etc etc. headers exhaust etc etc. So um..including a 3-5 thousand dollar car plus all the welding and fabbing, your looking at aroun 12,000$ or you could just put 12,000$ down as a down ayment ona lotus exige, or a 350z or something similar. If you want something unique and cheap build a v8 mg like i did, or put a 7mgte supra motor into a toy pickup, h22 into a civic hatch, much cooler swaps out ther in my opinion.

Are you sure the STi's engine will actually fit in the xB's engine bay? I'm not saying its not gonna work but I don't think the xB is big enough for this project. Or maybe I just don't know anything.

The only way I see it working is to start with a totally custom chassis and put the xB on it...but why stop there with an xB body if you are going to go through all that.

AND you keep saying "cheapo", but from my experiences, going cheap on anything just means it won't work or IF it does, it won't last. TRUST ME on this. IF you DO do it right, it is going to cost aLOT!

BTW, I think Travis Pastrana has a wrecked STI. I'll try to post a link!

Put your money where your mouth is! When it's done post some pics and I'm sure everyone here will bow down at your feet and worship you. Until then, I wouldn't talk about it. People talk of doing things like this all day long and never do it. If you pull it off I will be the first one to congratulate you, but I'll believe it when I see it.

ill tell you, i doubt youll get a subie engine to fit, but dont give up. youd be bettter off sticking a V8 in the rear rather than trying this. BUT, you never know till you try. From my experiances, dont tll anyone your plans till your into the project, and making head way, and its gonna be a success!!, trust me, most of the stuff ive done to my box, no one knew about till it was built and completed, good luck!!

If you want an STI xB are you gonna go all the way and make it AWD too?

You could probably do it to a tC since the front end is so big but it's not gonna fit in your little xB. Your gonna need a lot of room for the engine, trans, all the piping for the turbo and the intercooler, drivetrain and axles. etc.... Good luck with that

And you said it was gonna be cheap, if I wanted to put the 6-spd tranny in my WRX it would cost me around $5500. I don't know how much the STI engines are going for but its gotta be up there too.

...extremo cheapo...
If you somehow succeed in doing this without destroying the box or blowing ten grand, I'll fly out there and shake your hand.
