Default Valve Cover Removal Question?

Can the valve cover be removed without hurting the gasket? I want to pull it to polish it and needed to know if I'd need a new gasket before removing it. Thanks!

its a good idea to get a new one. that way it properly seals again and you don't get a nasty looking oily covered engine.

Thanks, but I'm hoping for maybe it having a reuseable seal. I've done this sort of thing in the past on other parts without hurting the gasket with no leaks. I basically want to know if the gasket will rip upon removal.
I'm affraid to find out how expensive the new gasket will be if I HAVE to get one.

Thanks Cool deal. Looks nice. it that chromed or polished?

Also how do you cover all the wiring harness junk. I really don't want to put the engine cover on after the polished valve cover is put on.

Yeah just take off the valve cover and be very careful when taking off the rubber gasket. I did mine a couple of times and didn't have to replace it. But if needed, the best place to call is the dealer.
