There are so many available for this car.... has there been any dyno comparisons between any of these headers... there are plenty of ebay brands also any luck with those...

if you want a header, might as well change your entire exhaust system

My entire exhaust system is changed I used to own an exhaust shop... I have no cat and an aeroturbine muffler.... I didn't see there being much of a difference with a header due to us already having a tubular manifold but quite a few on here claiming a noticeable difference with a header...

Okay, considering all of the people who have posted either own a tC or are noobs, a header is actually a nice addition.

The stock header is incredibly restrictive. It's the single piece of the exhaust system that will actually yield a gain. Granted, the 1.5 doesn't really see a ton of gains with any bolt on, but I certainly noticed a decent bump with mine.

Just comparing the stock and aftermarket, you can see how much less restrictive the aftermarket is. I have the Weapon-R 4-2-1.

The 4-2-1 will give you more of a mid range bump and a 4-1 is going to bump your higher end.

Aside from the welds and finish, the ebay ones aren't too bad. Most of em are copies of the DC sport header.

I used to drag race neons about 8 years ago or so and for a long while had the fastest SOHC neon in the country so I am not new to imports... But just decided now after 130,00 miles on the wifes scion to make a few mods and that's why the questions... I know it's not gonna be fast but I might as well make this as efficient as possible... it's paid off so it's time it got alittle attention...lol

You'll notice a nice bump with the header.

Are these some pretty good headers?

Suggest a 4-2-1 design, you'll feel the gain sooner in the power band, the 4-1 doesn't really pick up until after 4,250 RPM (mine was dyno'd with the Strup). Pair it with any short ram intake and you're good to go. That DME looks like a Strup copy.

OBX and Weapon-R are really the only two options right now for a 4-2-1.

DC Sports make a 4-1, which will yield more top end in comparison to 4-2-1.

Just saying, how much time do you spend, or even want to spend off the track above 4,500 RPM? For street application, I'll take a broader curve over top-end power any day, it's just more fun.

I think the only time I spend even a few seconds at 4500 RPM is when I'm flying down an on ramp.

The OBX looks the way to go then.... 4-2-1 and ceramic coated... how the quality... I had one of there mufflers about 10 years ago and it wasn't bad... I only had to reweld a bracket they had on it once... any real world experience on the header would be appreciated...

OBX isn't anything to really write home about (imho). One thing you will want to do with the header... wrap it, or use some form of heat shield for the shift cables, or both. Running the Weapon-R 4-2-1 here as well, probably the best power investment I've ever made for the box.

From what I have read that there a knockoff... but there are people that are running them on here without issue... but I don't see brackets for the heatshields etc. on the M2...
