Default anything is possible. . .

but you know you'd probably drop tons of cash. Remeber the xA/xB was designed as an economy car. I'd say sure it can be done, but why? I don't know about anyone else here but I bought the xB knowing it didn't have a lot of power. Yeah I would like to have the turbo/supercharger so passing the slow people on the highway were easier but I hell if I wanted horse power I would have bought the Lancer Evo viii, Sti, or the SRT-4 ( which I was looking at before I went to the Scion dealership).

500 hp. Yes it can be done! Its called an engine swap w/ a custom fabrication....though not TRULY street legal as youre not supposed to have any other engine in your car than the type it came with........

400-500 honest HP?

Well, that was fairly simple and straightforward with my ol' 426, but would be a bit of a push with only 90 cubic inches or so...

it's nice to think about. isn't it?

I remember seeing something similar done to a nissan micra. the engine was swapped and relocated behind the driver, and the car was made into a RWD.

if you can do it to a micra, im sure you can do it to an xA or xB.

Buy a real car if you want to get past the 108 hamster power.

If you did manage this it would be a complete waste of money and effort.

Wait for the Shelby Mustang GT500 if you want real horses, that's what I'm doing...

Anything is possible you just got to want it bad enough. if you want a 400-500 horse power scion then i am sure you can do it. before i was into scions i was big in to old beetles. stock 1600cc came with about 50 hp. now guys are getting 200 easy with no turbo or supercharger thats 4 times stock. there is no reason in my mind that a scion could not have 4 times the hp. that would put you were you wanna be. for all those that say they bought it cause it was cheap and they new it was low on horse power the beetle was all those things aswell but that never stop the guys out in southern cali in the 70's from doing it.

If your pockets are big enough anything is possible.
